TaiwaneseAmerican.org and the 2nd generation community of the SF Bay area will have a booth showcasing our events and organizations.

Stop by, watch performances on the main stage, and buy delicious Taiwanese foods offered through many of our 1st generation organization booths! It's an event not to be missed!

Voices Gone Wild- SEMISCON from Taiwan!

Winner of International A Cappella Competition and Asia's top music award, this "east meets west" ensemble whirls movie themes, Taiwanese melodies, golden oldies and pop favorites into an ecstasy of sound and motion.

AZN Asian Excellence Awards to Benefit TUF


The most prestigious awards show in HOLLYWOOD celebrating the outstanding achievements of Asians and Asian Americans in film, television, and music. Taiwanese American Broadway and television actor, singer, producer Welly Yang founded this event in conjunction with Second Generation, while he was in New York. Now in Hollywood, he continues to break new ground for the Asian American community! Partial proceeds from this event go towards supporting various Asian American non-profit organizations. The Taiwanese United Fund was selected to be one of the recipients this year!

Author Charles Yu at LA's Asian Pacific American Book Festival


The first ever Asian Pacific American Book Festival will be held in downtown LA. TAP will be having a Dinner Group featuring three authors from the festival, one Taiwanese American author (Charles Yu), who recently published the book "Third Class Superhero" and the authors of the book "China Dolls" Blossom Kan and Michelle Yu will be there to discuss their work

Kelly Tsai "Infinite Breaks" CD Release Party in SF


KELLY ZEN-YIE TSAI is a Chicago-born, Brooklyn-based, Chinese Taiwanese American spoken word artist who has featured at over 200 performances worldwide including three seasons of HBO’s award-winning “Russell Simmons’ Def Poetry.” Current projects include her recently released CD “Infinity Breaks” and her solo show “The Grieving Room.” For more info, visit Kelly at Yellowgurl or on Myspace.

Karen Lin's "Bystanding" Video: Poet Kelly Tsai


Filmmaker / Music Video Producer Karen Lin's new video entitled "Bystanding" features poet Kelly Tsai in a spoken word performance filmed in a music video style in the streets of New York. TaiwaneseAmerican.org, the Taiwanese American Foundation, and the Taiwanese United Fund were proud to financially support this project.

The video will make its West Coast debut at the VC Film Fest in Los Angeles during the week of May 3-10. The first showing will be part of the "Hey! Listen Up" music video series on Friday, May 4 at 9 pm, repeated again on Saturday, May 5 at 8:15 pm, and the second showing will be part of "Taking Charge/ Letting Go" short films series on Tuesday, May 8 at 9:45 pm.
